MY STOCKHOLM VIEW. And on the first morning of the third week, I awoke feeling…okay I think. A succinct sentence scrolled across my mind’s eye, ‘Only 28 more mornings until you wake up in that huge bed on 13th Street….’ Gone in a flash though. Stockholm. Best Western Hotel Bentleys on Drottninggaten. I am quite good at picking hotels it seems, while I’m sure there will be the exception, this one is… Read More

Two weeks to get in shape for The Journey. I may have set six month, three month, one month deadlines for launching a plan to become super-healthy before I travel. Okay, so they didn’t work out. Think what I can do in two weeks however. Fourteen days. Six visits to gym for abs class and at least half an hour on the machines. Ten morning walks, one to 1 ½ hours each…. Read More

Ducks. Another shootout, this time a military base.  God bless america. Hearts are broken. Yeah, right. If hearts were broken guns would be less available. Hear the clink of coin…not heart…coin. Never mind. Time and Place is about Travel. Age. Mostly. How about walks in the morning and computer f-ups and my f-ups? Here are some pics. What a lovely morning it was. No thoughts of time or place. I think two… Read More

The Time is July 5th, 2015, still morning. My Place is Albuquerque, New Mexico. Just a little while ago it was dawn down by the Rio Grande. Quiet. Absolutely quiet. Only saw two people and one rabbit and heard a few sleepy birds. Soon the sun came to bother me but it was still a little cool and smelled of green, unusual for New Mexico. So for awhile I ignored thoughts of the… Read More

Timbuktu is unqualifiedly a brilliant film—and soon I will post a review of it; mostly I will quote other smartly written reviews and just add personal notes of what it meant to me. Before publishing the review, I want to share two or three small photo albums from my 2010 trip to Mali. This is partly to give me a little more writing time, but also to help me narrow down which photo… Read More

2015 saw the first of the seven BIG trips I intend to take before retiring. It was truly Around the World, designed to set the parameters for all to follow—in other words any place on our fragile planet can be on the list; and yes, the Arctic and Antarctica are there. Here’s the actual mileage: 18,287, shorter than the almost 25,000 it would have been had I exactly followed the equator. All… Read More

Morocco 2009 with Scott was a special time…how often does one get to hang out with an interesting inquisitive kind and funny son for a whole week in a magnificent country with a lively, rich and ancient culture and grand and beautiful scenery. I’ve just included a scattering of photos in these posts. First city, now country, then market, on to a different city and finally odds and ends.

In 2009 I met son Scott in Morocco and we had a most splendid time and travel in that fascinating country. I wasn’t blogging back then so these albums are  just now appearing. Enjoy. MOROCCAN VERSION OF THE REAPERS.
