ABOUT ME (AND TIMES AND PLACES)

I am, first of all a woman of a certain age with fine children, extraordinary grandchildren, and, I am happy to report, a bright and beautiful great granddaughter.

Ever so quickly I’ll add…I have been a theater manager and presenter of national and international dance, theater, and music; a director of arts programming for artists with developmental disabilities; a social worker and therapist, and, back in the day, a minor political staffer/activist.

Who I have always been (from age two or so but that’s another story), and continue to be, is a traveler, reader, and writer. Please check out Window Seat: The Story of a Traveling Life, a memoir (Archway Publishing, Amazon, Barnes & Noble).

My home of homes, where I grew up and best understand who I am, is Northome, Minnesota. For much of my life however, I’ve been based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the place which has entertained and sustained me for the long haul.

It’s 2026. I want my blog to reflect my life now, heading toward the finish line… with time to ponder decades past and the strangeness of the present. So many topics to explore here in Time and Place.

    • Thanks so much. It’s very nice of you to take the time to say something. Hope I can get better about editing my stuff…but thanks again for liking it now.

      • I recently did a housekeeping week of my blog…in conjunction with the Blogging 201 Class. What I discovered as I reread and reviewed all of my posts form Day 1 was an amazing learning curve has taken place. I was so tempted to go back and redo so many of my early posts…but then I decided not to. I wanted this blog to really show the journey I am on and part of that is that I am now much more skilled and a better editor of my stuff. Having said that, I still have so much to learn, which is part of the fun of it!
        All my best to you,

  1. I just found your blog because you agreed with my comment on another blog! I took a quick trip around a few pages and when I saw “Mongolia” (on my near-term list), I decided I must follow! Can’t read now (on my way out) but looking forward to seeing where you’ve been.

  2. Hello!

Glad to see “a woman of a certain age with fine children and extraordinary (of course) grandchildren” blogging the way you do!
First time here and looks interesting. I was awed by your current reading list about Norway!!

I came from the Basque country (French part). Hope one day you will stop by; there is a lot of things to see!

    Romain.
