ABOUT ME (AND MY BLOG)

Time for an Update. I am, as previously stated, a woman of a certain age with fine children and extraordinary (of course) grandchildren.

More interestingly for blogging purposes, I am, first of all, a reader writer photographer traveler student. Happily, I am also the director-of-arts-programming-for-artists-with-developmental-disabilities. And the tiniest bit a political junkie and wanna-be film aficionado and foodie.

I was formerly a presenter of international contemporary dance but that was then…this is NOW.

All of which keeps me moderately stressed, frequently exhausted…but never ever bored.

This blog has served the purpose of getting me involved in something I do love—blogging.

As I learn to be an ever-better blogger (writer/photographer) I will also focus here, in Time and Place, on planning for and reaching the 105 countries left on my list of every country in the world.

I hope you’ll come along for the journey which begins in April (2014).

*U.S. travel will have its own blog, Social Studies for Adults, and will also be back in business in April.

Mom always said “If at first you don’t succeed, try try again.” Which always annoyed me a lot, but it may have turned into my motto.

    • Thanks so much. It’s very nice of you to take the time to say something. Hope I can get better about editing my stuff…but thanks again for liking it now.

      • I recently did a housekeeping week of my blog…in conjunction with the Blogging 201 Class. What I discovered as I reread and reviewed all of my posts form Day 1 was an amazing learning curve has taken place. I was so tempted to go back and redo so many of my early posts…but then I decided not to. I wanted this blog to really show the journey I am on and part of that is that I am now much more skilled and a better editor of my stuff. Having said that, I still have so much to learn, which is part of the fun of it!
        All my best to you,

  1. I just found your blog because you agreed with my comment on another blog! I took a quick trip around a few pages and when I saw “Mongolia” (on my near-term list), I decided I must follow! Can’t read now (on my way out) but looking forward to seeing where you’ve been.

  2. Hello!

Glad to see “a woman of a certain age with fine children and extraordinary (of course) grandchildren” blogging the way you do!
First time here and looks interesting. I was awed by your current reading list about Norway!!

I came from the Basque country (French part). Hope one day you will stop by; there is a lot of things to see!

    Romain.
