A FEW DAYS AGO. Still at Neset Camping. Photos to follow.

NOW. Stavanger, August 10. Cousin Arne’s house. This is my last family day on this trip. When I step onto the train to Oslo tomorrow morning it will be like falling from comfortable familiarity into a void of unforeseen experiences. Not quite true since Oslo and Stockholm are certainly familiar but I will leave Norwegian family and friends and be in the company of strangers for the next five weeks.

Meanwhile I have three days in Oslo to catch up on writing and do some serious city-walking. I’ll go to my favorite places Munch Museum (Munch and Van Gogh partnered in a new exhibit), Frogner Park and to visit the Viking ship.

Tomorrow an eight-hour train ride from Stavanger to Oslo. Then my writing day when I will try to express how wonderfully interesting it is to be part of the world outside of my everyday U.S. life. This Norwegian family, whether connected by blood or by land, is really special to me—but more about all of that in a day or so. I am really very proud to be part of this family.

Now, because I am so enamored of Neset, the Place, I am sharing another of my lengthy green albums. I know, I know…too many photos all at once is not the best choice for blog posts if you want anyone to spend time with you…can’t help it, Neset is beautiful and I love it there and here is more of it.
